Twilight Town Midsummer Film Festival- OPEN Kingdom Hearts RP

School's out and the sleepy streets of Twilight Town are full and friendly, bustling with relaxed activity.
These endless days are the longest they'll be all year, so take your time and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.
As evening finally approaches, it's hard to find an empty table at Le Grand Bistro, and the lines for ice cream stretch around the central square.
You may want to try for a take-out carton of chinese, or a pushcart hawking sweet watermelon slices, salted pretzels and buttery popcorn.
The town's mingling energy drifts toward the packed back alley movie theatre, where they'll be showing short films all evening, most of them made by amateur hopefuls- the kids in town, submitted as a final school projects. Rumor has it Scrooge McDuck is backing this festival, in hopes of inspiring young people to explore their talents. His great-nephews have submitted quite the adventure story for your entertainment!
Others are by more intrepid filmmakers with a little more experience, a garden-variety of hodgepodge with something for everybody- horror featurettes with low-budget effects yet thrilling jump scares, an ecclectic mix of documentaries, music videos, computer-rendered animations, touching little romance stories and laugh-out-loud funnies... rumor has it there's an underdog Struggle Tournament flik, poised to rival Rocky.
Will you meet up with your best friends?
Make it an unforgettable first date night?
Brush shoulders with strangers or run into old familar faces?
Or perhaps keep an eye out for enemies, rivals and lingering threats that may be lurking...

It..... sort of works? It slides and bobs around a lot as Carpet moves, but it does stay on. One tassel is holding an entire stack of the tacky visors; the other twists itself into a thumbs up. That's right, they're free to keep! Have fun pranking a kid with it in turn, or more tamely gifting it instead?

"Oh!" It takes a moment to register what he's seeing, exactly- Not a mascot costume for a flooring warehouse (though wouldn't that be charming?) Something that moves a little like a dusk, but far too singularly colorful with symmetrical persian rug patterns to be a Nobody.
"Hello... and thank you?" Ienzo's expression swiftly morphs from surprise to wide-eyed fascination, then slowly to recognition. "You're... not from around here in town either, are you?"

Trying to evoke Agrabah's famous belly dancers is about the best he can offer, in terms of providing a concrete answer. Did you ever stop and watch a show while out and about, Ienzo?

The way Carpet folds near the middle and wiggles on the ends seems to suggest an hourglass shape, and Ienzo's pretty sure he understands the reference.
"Ah? I think perhaps I know the place."
He can't help but smile, which he's been doing so much more of lately that it's almost overwhelming, how different it makes his face feel. How much his heart is stretching open, wide awake.
"Bet you'll enjoy the Bollywood shorts then, huh." He muses wryly.
no subject
Bollywood, though..... that term, he doesn't recognize. Carpet turns to stand in profile, curving into the shape of a question mark. What's he talking about?
no subject
He chuckles, chattering encouraged by the carpet's curious posture, even though it's not exactly brimming with returned conversation. May as well make up for the years of imbalanced, once sided conversations back when he was the one playing selectively mute?
"Not exactly my thing, but... once of my former associates really enjoys them? He likes that they have sitar music in them, sometimes... back before Saix snapped and broke the VHS player, those silly films always seemed to be playing all the time, in the common area..."
"I don't suppose you might come along with me and help find a good spot to watch?" He proposes- as far as Ienzo can tell, no one else is around who seems to be looking for their rug to return, so... maybe it has an enchanted evening all to itself?
no subject
Oh! He did</> see those before, then. Is that what they're called? Carpet perks up at the description, nodding enthusiastically. He can't say he recognizes the name, or knows what a VCR is..... still, he can't blame this former associate for appreciating sitar music. Clearly that was a man of culture and taste.
He'd be more than happy to chatter back at Ienzo, provided with something like a little chalkboard--but in the absence of that, Carpet simply swirls around Ienzo in enthusiastic agreement. Lead on, then! And enjoy watching him sneakily stick tacky hats on other festival goers on the way, because he still has some to give out.

Merlin should really take a moment to admire this particular one- since his youth, Ienzo had been familiar with so many dancing teapots, enchanted objects, but this one certainly packs an extra punch of personality.
The number of people who barely even notice themselves being crowned with director's visors is also amusing, and Ienzo keeps idle tally... Carpet would have been infinitely useful, for missions where subterfuge was of the utmost importance.
He shakes his head, shrugging his former life in the Organization from mind with momentary annoyance for just how easy it is to slip back into that way of thinking. Wow, the festival's really filling up.
"Hmm... Hey, ah, think you can help me corner a balcony seat?" He prompts hopefully, pointing up toward a higher ledge in the plaza.
no subject
Until he presses a tassel against his front, extends the other with a flourish, and sweeps into a much more obvious bow. It's a display of sheer pride, rather than upset--just who does Ienzo think he's talking to? Of course he can help him with that, that's child's play for something like him! They can be up there before any potential competitors can even climb the stairs.
Carpet flutters obligingly down to Ienzo's feet, hovering just an inch or two off the ground to ensure he doesn't get pinned down by the crowd walking over him.
Get in, loser, we're going film critiquing!
